NLC Hafay is a nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) formulated from Hafay — bran oil cold-pressed from selected native Taiwanese foxtail millet, upcycled from the milling co-product stream. Unlike a standard plant oil, NLC Hafay is a delivery-oriented system: the lecithin-based nanostructured lipid carrier is designed to improve delivery and absorption, not only to provide emolliency.

Upcycled origin does not limit an ingredient's standing: COSMOS Standard has an established methodology for co-product and upcycled raw materials, including rules on co-product allocation and processing restrictions.
